harrypotterdigitalartwork_370x370It may be the big Harbor East Summer Sidewalk Sale this weekend, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of shopping out there for the kids too.

FRIDAY

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert

You know what would make the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone movie even better? Oh, how about all of the music being performed in front of you live while you watch on a big, high definition screen? If that sounds like a can’t-miss experience, then you’re right and you have two chances to catch it this weekend: Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Tickets: $25-75. 8 p.m. Friday at Strathmore, 3 p.m. Saturday at Meyerhoff.

 Flash Flood Sale

After the tragic flooding in Ellicott City last weekend, one store is turning its misfortune into an opportunity. After much of its warehouse stock got wet, Shananigans Toy Shop has put all those toys with damaged packaging (but, for the most part, toys in near-perfect shape) up on sale. Help support this great story in a community that’s rebuilding. Through 6 p.m. Saturday at Shananigans Toy Shop in Ellicott City.

DigiTour Summer at Rams Head Live!

Is your pre-teen screen-obsessed? Does your teenager try to tell you about their favorite Vine star? Even if you don’t know what Vine is, surprise that pre-teen or teen in your life by taking them to DigiTour Summer, a concert full of some of the biggest YouTube, Vine and other social media stars. Tickets: $25-99. 6:30 p.m. at Rams Head Live!

SATURDAY

South Moon Under Back-to-School Style Session

Get a head start on that back-to-school clothes shopping with a style session and sale at South Moon Under. The chic clothing store—with locations in Fells Point and Towson—is offering 20 percent off to students and teachers Saturday only. Don’t miss the great sale! Starting at 10 a.m. at South Moon Under stores.

Medal at the Canton Olympics

Celebrate the beginning of the Rio Olympics (you can find our guide to the summer games here) by participating here at home! The Canton branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library is hosting a family-friendly obstacle course perfect for all those budding Olympians. Free. 2 p.m. at the Canton Branch Library.

SUNDAY

Lake Roland Mud Day

Who doesn’t like to get down and dirty once in a while? Lake Roland has got you covered—in mud! Throw on some old clothes and get ready to get muddy, with mud pie-making, mud painting, mud sculptures and a mud obstacle course. Even better: there will be sprinklers and fire hoses to clean you back off. Tickets: $5 per person ($3 for members). 2-4 p.m. at Lake Roland.
