50th Anniversary Kwanzaa Celebration
This cultural celebration will include African dancing and drumming, storytelling, crafts, vendors and a tour through Culture Kingdom Kids’ Kwanzaaland. The perfect place to learn more about—and celebrate the heritage of—this African American holiday.

Movie and Music: Star Trek into Darkness
Let Scottie beam you up to the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall for a showing of “Star Trek into Darkness” with the movie score performed live by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Winter Break Celebration

New Year’s Eve Spectacular
Ring in 2017 with friends and family in Downtown Baltimore for the city’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration. With live music, ice skating and a grand fireworks display, it will send out your year with a bang.

Noon Year’s Eve Party
If your kids want to experience the fun of New Year’s, but aren’t quite old enough to stay up that late, countdown instead to Noon Year’s Eve in Baltimore County libraries.

Midnight Noon
To cap off its 12 Days of Science, the Maryland Science Center is ending with a New Year’s Eve celebration at noon with popular kids band Milkshake. End the year on a high note!

Kiddie Scoop Ball
Head to the Charmery to ring 2017 in sweetly—and just a little bit early. Meet in front of the giant scoop for a countdown to the milk jug ball drop and a sparkling cider toast.

Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!
Hilarious chapter book heroine Junie B. is excited for the upcoming sing-along and other holiday fun at her school, as any first grader would be. But when she discovers that her Secret Santa pick is her nemesis, May, she is less than thrilled—but maybe this is her chance to give May what she deserves. As the celebration approaches, though, Junie B. may come to discover that the season of giving is for, well, giving…not for revenge (even when it comes to snobby May).

Holiday Festival of Trains
Train lovers will adore the delightful displays of holiday scenes, Thomas the Tank, Crazy Train and more.

Blacksmith Shop Workday
See firsthand the work of a hundred-year-old tradition that still survives today. Meet and learn from the resident blacksmiths and enjoy a day of fun at the farm.
