Glenwood Academy serves students in grades 1-12. Student profiles might include those with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, processing difficulties, memory challenges, and/or attention concerns.

We maintain small class sizes of no more than 8 students. Our multisensory approach provides students with multiple methods of instruction, tapping into students’ strengths and allowing them to make connections and form memories that drive authentic understanding and application. We use research-based methodologies including: Orton-Gillingham; Visualizing and Verbalizing; Story Grammar Marker; Framing Your Thoughts; Touch Math; and Math-U-See.

Glenwood Academy curriculum aligns with the Maryland State Department of Education standards and resembles Howard County Public Schools curriculum. Through technology and special accommodations, we are able to individualize each student’s education plan to meet them where they are, then scaffold up to grade level standards. Progress is monitored by identifying and measuring learning outcomes throughout the year. We offer related arts including technology, music, art, and physical education to ensure students receive a well-rounded education.
