This summer is going to be a hot one—but that doesn’t mean teens have to skip working out.
High school students ages 14 to 19 can work out for free indoors this summer as part of Planet Fitness’ High School Summer Pass program. The nationwide program is now in the fourth year of its campaign to help teens prioritize physical and mental wellness.
A new national study commissioned by Planet Fitness found that 94% of American teens faced mental health struggles and 63% appreciate how fitness can positively impact their lives and lead to healthier lifestyles into adulthood.
Another study published in 2023 in the National Library of Medicine linked physical exercise to improved sleep, mood and quality of life. The same study found that physical exercise and yoga may help people manage cravings for substances, especially in those who might not have access to other forms of therapy.
Through the High School Summer Pass, teens will have access to free fitness training from certified trainers, free workouts designed with high schoolers in mind and workout plans.
This program applies to all of the 2,500+ Planet Fitness locations from June 1 to Aug. 31. Teens who sign up must use the same location where they signed up for the program. They cannot switch locations. For those who are younger than 18, a parent or guardian is needed to complete the sign-up process.
Families can find Planet Fitness locations nearby and sign up for the Summer Pass online at planetfitness.com/summerpass.
