It’s a Halloween party at The Maryland Zoo. Come on out in costume and be ready to trick or treat, play carnival games and jump in the bouncy house. Like all activities at the zoo, it should be a wild time

A night of spooky fun awaits at the Cylburn Mansion, including trick or treating, games, crafts and face painting. Check website for RSVP information.

Harford Fest
Celebrate Harford Community College’s 60th anniversary with this fun festival, beginning with a “5k Spooktacular” and featuring plenty of kids’ activities, opportunities for prospective students to meet faculty and staff, food trucks and more.
8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Harford Community College. 

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival 
Pay homage to your ancestors at The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival, a celebration honoring the Mexican tradition of DÍa de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. The Creative Alliance hosts its 17th annual Great Halloween, offering hayrides, an authentic hand drum lantern-making workshop, Day of the Dead altar making, a Halloween costume contest and a parade led by its resident Artesanas Mexicanas. Food trucks, beer offerings and live music will make the experience a day-long fiesta. There will even be a free Zumba class!

BOOseum Bash!
Wear your costumes and join in the fun that includes music, face painting, a haunted house and making edible cinnamon bats.

Doors Open Baltimore 
It’s that time of year again! More than 50 buildings, from theaters and museums to historical houses, will be open for free across the city on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will bring a host of events, too, like guided bus and bike tours, lectures, celebrations and more.
Oct. 28-29, citywide. Free. 

Witches & Wizards Weekend
All aboard the Wizards Express! For this weekend of magic, come dressed as your favorite witch or wizard. Young sorcerers will make edible potions, wizard wands and hats. Train rides start promptly at 12 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. Other activities include sword demonstrations on Saturday, herbology and magical mechanics.

SUNDAY

HorizonWALKS
Join in on the community walkathon and fall festival at Camden Yards, supporting Horizon Day Camp for children with cancer and their siblings. The event features “live music, carnival games, costume contests, prizes, face painting, refreshments, special guests and more!”
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., walk begins at 10 a.m. at Camden Yards. 

Trick or Tape
PLAYBACKTHETAPE brings four classic Halloween TV specials back (“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,”  “Garfield’s Halloween Adventure,” Doug’s Halloween Adventure,” and a special Halloween episode of “The Simpsons”) complete with commericals, subpar recording, for a fun night of nostalgia.
4:30-7:30 p.m. at New America in the Bromo Arts & Entertainment District. Free.

Tales & Treats Haunted Weekend
Take a lantern-lit walk to the farm house in a family-friendly night of ghost stories and Halloween delights at this Havre de Grace farm museum. The walk will be followed by s’mores and hot cider around a bonfire. Leashed pets welcome. Admission by donation.
