Each spring, the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage tour gives visitors an inside look at historical spaces throughout Maryland. The 2024 theme for the Baltimore County tour, taking place on April 28, is rural towns that played an important role in supplying Baltimore City with goods and industrial products.
Places including the Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville are on this year’s route. The museum regularly hosts students from Baltimore City and county, and it will be the tour’s special project recipient this year. Proceeds from the tour will support school experiences and aid in teaching fire prevention.
Families with children ages 10 and older can share a bit of history with their kids at the museum, while also enjoying a family-friendly pit stop on the tour April 28. Stop by the museum on April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a special mid-week spring break family day in the Discovery Room for children of all ages.
Families going on tour will need to pick up tickets and tour booklets at the museum before shuttling to seven additional sites in the Towson and Ruxton areas. Lunch is also available for advance order at Callahan Gardens.
