Grow together with these fun family learning experiences from the Family Entertainment Directory in the March 2022 issue of Baltimore’s Child.
Learn about fire history and safety at the Fire Museum of Maryland, have your school book a hands-on educational tour where you can climb a fire engine, and look out for special events throughout the year. The museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary on May 6-7—with hose wagon rides, demos, kids’ contest, Dalmatians and food vendors, to name a few.
Science Guys Summer Camp will have your kids doing 20-30 experiments per week, along with games, relationship building, and an emphasis on having fun. Choose from seven locations throughout the region.

Children’s programming, after-school clubs (now available virtually), trails and the exploratory outdoor classroom at the Irvine Nature Center will teach your little one about nature and stimulate the imagination. Check out the center’s animal ambassadors, who each have a story to share.
The National Aquarium has a whole host of learning opportunities weekly. Join educators for Animal Encounters and Critter Chats, where you can learn about smaller aquatic habitat friends such as the tiger salamander and Madagascar hissing cockroach.
Engage in hands-on learning, explore math in nature and study the human body in one of many kid-friendly exhibits at the Maryland Science Center. Your child can celebrate the achievements of women in science in the Kid’s Room for Women’s History Month or watch the stars twinkle over Sesame Street with a special show at the planetarium.
