“America’s Greatest Comic Book Convention” will once again be held at the Baltimore Convention Center on the weekend of Oct. 17-19. This year’s convention will see several noteworthy new guests from the entertainment industry and the world of comics, along with returning favorites who have been part of the convention’s history for years, and plenty of fun activities for all ages.

Starting out as a small one-day event held by a Reisterstown-based comic book store, Baltimore Comic-Con has grown into one of the area’s largest conventions and a place for fans to celebrate all things nerdy. (To learn more about Baltimore Comic-Con’s history and growth, check out our 25th anniversary feature online: Baltimore Comic-Con Celebrates 25 Years: Finding New Audiences for a Time-Honored Medium.)

This year’s headliners include “Breaking Bad” and “The Mandalorian” actor Giancarlo Esposito and “Harry Potter” actors Bonnie Wright and James and Oliver Phelps, as well as many well-known comic artists. Stan Sakai, creator of “Usagi Yojimbo” and a regular staple at Baltimore Comic-Con, will also be returning.

The event is free to attend for kids ages 10 and younger who are with a paying adult, and there are many kid-friendly events planned, including youth-focused panels and a cosplay contest and showcase where kids are encouraged to make their own costumes.
