Weird Al Comes to Charm City

Looking for a last minute way to spend your Wednesday evening? Want to get your pre-teens/teenagers out of the house for a bit? The OG of musical parody Weird Al Yankovic will be bringing his clever takes on well-known songs to the Hippodrome tonight in his “Mandatory Fun” tour, supporting his 2014 album of the same name. Whether you’re there for the new hits like “Word Crimes” (good grammar version of “Blurred Lines”) and “Tacky” (a more weirdly-dressed, less polite “Happy,” Pharrell’s giant hat notwithstanding) or want to hear old favorites like “Amish Paradise” (“Gangster’s Paradise” but with more barn-raising and less technology) and “Fat” (a food-themed “Bad”), Weird Al knows how to bring the laughs—and good music.

Speaking as someone who has had the privilege of seeing Weird Al in concert, expect high energy and great fun. Just to give you a taste, here is one of my favorite Weird Al songs for your listening pleasure.
