Baltimore’s Child wants to hear from you: As you’ve watched protests around the world in response to the death of George Floyd, what is something you’ve wished for our community? Your child? The future? How do we bridge racial divides in our country?

We’re not interested in social media squabbles, or big political battles. We want to hear your insights.

“It starts at home,” Gena Zehner told us on Facebook. “Whenever my kids would play sports they were immediately looked down upon because of the school they went to. So then, given the color of their skin…well, no friendships forged there. So, that starts at home.”

“It starts at home. Turn off the TV, stop idolizing celebrities and glorifying stuff,” Susanne Reiter agrees. “Spread the ideal that human life matters, people matter, loving thy neighbor matters. Be the change you want to see in the world. Never be too proud to reach out a hand to help anyone, everyone.”

What If Your Kids Wants to Protest?

What do you think? What if it was up to us parents, and not politicians, to solve these problems? What would we do? What should we do?
