What’s the hardest part about juggling parenthood and your career?

Something I call energy management, making sure I still have energy, patience and enthusiasm at the end of weekdays and on weekends for family time.

What makes trying to balance both easier for you?

Having a wonderful and supportive spouse. Single parents are superheroes!

What do you love about being a parent?

Seeing and witnessing my children’s growth and development. Children’s curiosity and candor are contagious.

What’s your biggest parenting fail?

The first time I went out with my older daughter, I completely forgot the diaper bag and, of course, I needed it! Now, I know that a prepared parent is a happy parent.

How do you believe your work at Baltimore County Public Library helps the youngest members of our community?

BCPL provides wonderful resources for children, including early literacy and school readiness programs (such as storytimes) and other recreational activities, such as Storyville at the Woodlawn and Rosedale branches. I believe BCPL is a great place for families to gather and find the resources they need.

What do you hope your children will learn from you and your career?

Believing in your work’s mission and values is as important as your job title.
