The Maryland Science Center’s 12 Days of Science will keep young, active minds stirring throughout the holiday season. Featuring a different theme each day, the event will offer mind-boggling workshops, live demonstrations, and hands-on building throughout the science center. Participants might journey into the arctic one day, and take part in toboggan racing another.

Check out these details, straight from the Maryland Science Center website: “Recreate your favorite Star Wars sound effects and play with Yoda’s swamp slime on Hoth Holiday. Make colorful shadows and light up the night on Northern Lights day. Escape winter for a day and head to our beach party in December. Participate in polar games and explore chilly chemistry during the most wonderful time of the year!”

Can’t make it to the Maryland Science Center? At-home activities will be dec-19-second-image-for-webavailable via the science center’s website and social media outlets.

In the midst of the event, the science center will host its annual “Midnight Noon” celebration on New Year’s Eve, featuring local favorite and Grammy-nominated band Milkshake.

The Maryland Science Center’s 12 Days of Science takes place December 22, 2016 through January 2, 2017, and is free with paid admission.
