A small city with a big history, Westminster is home to of one of the longest continuously held Memorial Day parades in the country (since 1868). Westminster is the county seat of Carroll County. Corbit’s Charge, a battle preceding the Battle of Gettysburg, took place in Westminster on June 28, 1963.
Festivals and Events
Westminster is a hot spot for more than a dozen festivals and events all year long. July is Recreation and Parks month with a different event planned for all 31 days, and Downtown Westminster’s Farmer’s Market Saturdays are open from 8 a.m. to noon from mid-May to November.
