Owings Mills has a lot to offer families. The Baltimore suburb is conveniently located 20 minutes outside the city, with the Metro Centre at Owings Mills located in the heart of the community making catching an O’s game or tailgating the Ravens easy. Just off to the side of the Metro Centre lives Mill Station (formerly Owings Mills Mall). The shopping center is home to 10 storefronts and 24 different restaurants including family favorites like Crumbl Cookies and THB, a neighborhood bagelry.
An Outdoor Oasis
While Owings Mills has the suburban city feel, the community also is home to many nature trails and picnic spots. Northwest Regional Park offers the Baltimore Ravens-themed destination playground, community garden plots and wooded pathways. Centennial Park offers more than three miles of scenic trails for the whole family to enjoy the fresh air. The Irvine Nature Center, off of Garrison Forest Road, is another great option for families to spend time outdoors and learn about the environment.
A Center for Learning
From toddler story times to adult reading clubs, there is something for the whole family at the libraries in Owings Mills. The Owings Mills branch of Baltimore County public libraries offers a wide variety of events and amenities including ESOL lessons, hands-on workshops, trivia nights, magic shows and more. On the north side of town, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore’s Owings Mills campus offers a multitude of family-friendly film showings and performances at the Gordon Center, swimming lessons at the center’s indoor pool and art exhibitions.
