Little future animators will have the chance to learn all about animation when Port Discovery Children’s Museum’s “Animationland” opens this weekend. The new exhibit, sponsored by M&T Bank, launched this past weekend and features interactive activities to help children make their own animated story.

Activities include storyboarding, where kids can practice making characters using simple geometric shapes, and a trip to Foley Studio, where they can play with noise-making tools to create their own sound effects and add them to their animation. Next, kids can run over to Plan & Pose Interactive and use fun props to create stop-motion movies.

The end of the day calls for a fun photo op with the family in the Prickle Desert or Comfort Peaks to commemorate the adventure.

Advanced tickets and reservations are required and can be found on the museum’s website.
