Benjamin Banneker was fascinated by “locusts,” as he called cicadas and crickets. He recorded their appearance in his nature journal. In this program, we learn the calls of 6 target insect songsters and then go outside to listen for them. You will then be ready to follow in Benjamin Banneker’s footsteps, and monitor for the annual Cricket Crawl citizen science weekend. Adults and children 8 and older. $2/person or $5/family. Preregistration is required at [email protected]
