Jazz in the Stacks

Enjoy a live jazz ensemble in the library, led by Carl Grubbs and presented in partnership with Contemporary Arts Inc. Enoch Pratt Free Library, Washington Village Branch, 6:30 p.m. Free.

Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas

Soulful and dynamic, this zydeco group has earned a reputation as one of the best in the biz. Catch them live and be ready to bust a move — there’s a free dance lesson before the show. Creative Alliance, 7:30 p.m. $22, $18/members.

‘Kinky Boots’

Catch this Tony Award-winning musical at your favorite local dinner theater. With a score by Cyndi Lauper and a story of tolerance and triumph, the whole family is sure to have a blast. Toby’s Dinner Theater, 6 p.m. Through March 22. $50-$60.


iNaturalist Trek

This fun activity includes nature plus technology for the double dose of science. Use the the iNaturalist app to find plants and animals at the park. Good for all ages; kids under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Anita C. Leight Estuary Center, 11 a.m.-noon. Free.

Children ages 2 and up are invited to listen to a winter-themed book and paint a mug to go along with it. Ticket includes admission for one adult chaperone. The Pottery Stop, 9:30-10:30 a.m. $17.

Mosaics with Rick Shelley

Design your own masterpiece with guidance from a celebrated artist. The all-day workshop includes supplies and hands-on instruction, as well as a tour of the museum’s best mosaics. American Visionary Art Museum, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $110, $85/members.

Catacombs, 100-Year Vendors and History at Lexington Market

Did you know there are catacombs below the Lexington Market? Take a guided tour of them and the market itself, and learn about their fascinating history. Lexington Market, 10:30-11:30 a.m. $10.


Music Box: Snowflakes

In this interactive concert, little music lovers are invited to listen, learn and play with BSO musicians. This month’s theme: winter wonderland. Come early for pre-show activities. Gordon Center for Performing Arts, 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. $12.

Macrame Hanging Planter Workshop

Sip a beer and make new friends during this hands-on workshop, hosted by Which Crafters. You’ll learn to make your very own macrame planter. Best part? You get to take it home. Waverly Brewing Company, 2-5 p.m. $45.
