Witches, wizards and Oz: Oh my! Watch Broadway’s talented actors tell the story before the story in “Wicked: The Untold True Story of the Witches of Oz.” The Hippodrome Theatre, through March 8. Tickets start at $100.

Shoots and Letters: Winter Scavenger Hunt
Drop in for a look-and-find with your child that’s sure to be lots of fun. For children ages 3 and up. Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 10-11 a.m. $2/child.

Cabin Fever Hike
Spring is almost here and changes are happening all around. Learn how trees are getting ready for the new season. For ages 6 and up. Registration required. Eden Mill Nature Center, 10:30 a.m. Adults $8, accompanying children free.

Hoppy Hour
Come hop yourself happy. Every Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m., discount jumping passes for up to two hours are 50 percent off. Sky Zone Timonium, 4-6 p.m. $8.


Pig Party

It’s National Pig Day.  Celebrate with games, crafts and snacks related to our favorite swine. Enoch Pratt Free Library, Washington Village Branch, 3:30 p.m. Free.

Seuss-tactic Story Time

Bring your preschooler to this National Read Across America Day program featuring books by Dr. Seuss and a fun craft for ages 2-5. Baltimore County Public Library, Parkville Branch, 10:30-11 a.m. Free.

The Maryland Sporting Dog Show

Watch these furry athletes take part in obedience and rally trials, bird instinct clinics and much more. All dog lovers welcome. Runs through March 3. Howard County Fairgrounds, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Parking $5.


Seashell Paint

Make your next masterpiece with natural paint that is Maryland made. Search the shore for shells we’ll show you how it’s done. For ages 5 and up, under 13 with adult.  Registration required. Anita C. Leight Estuary Center, 1-2:30 p.m. $7.

Annual Pancake Breakfast

Breakfast is served this Saturday and Sunday featuring tasty pancake stacks covered in maple syrup, sausage and an assortment of beverages. Bring the family for music, raffles and our flower and syrup sales. Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 8 a.m.-noon Adults $8, Kids (ages 2-8) $4, under 2 free.


Winter Adventure Team

Come for our final winter adventure before spring. This science and nature program is for kids ages 7-12 who love the great outdoors. Registration required. Irvine Nature Center, 9-11 a.m. $15 members, $20 nonmembers.

Create a Mosaic

Help us decorate the new children’s area with a mosaic in this art program for all ages.  Registration required. Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Library, 1-3 p.m. Free.

Yoga for Beginners

Join us and learn introductory yoga stretches and poses for flexibility, relaxation and overall wellness. Registration required. Baltimore County Public Library, Rosedale Branch, 2-3 p.m. Free.
