Dog Days Block Party

It’s the Dog Days of summer, so what better way to shake off that lethargy than with a free block party to honor our four-legged friends. Grab Fido and head to the block of Creative Alliance for doggy pools, art activities, face painting, wandering magicians and treats for both pets and their owners. Free. 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Creative Alliance.

ParkFest

Mount Vernon Marketplace is hosting its first block party. Complete with lots of street food, live music, arts and craft vendors and beer and wine (for the parents!), ParkFest is sure to be a success. The best part? It’s free! Free. 12-8 p.m. at Mount Vernon Marketplace.

SUNDAY

Another of Power Plant Live’s family fun days, this Sunday will be Caribbean-themed with family-friendly live music, food, drinks, beach games and a limbo contest. Get the best of the beach without the drive (or sand in the car). Tickets: $10-12 (includes kids meal and drink). 1-5 p.m. at Power Plant Live!
