Age:
The ages given are the range for all the programs in the camp or program.
Session Dates:
Listed are the first day of the first session and the last day of the last session. Since many camps and programs follow the school calendar, these dates may change if schools close earlier or later than anticipated. When dates are not certain at the time of publication, you’ll see TBD (to be determined) in that column. Camps are asked to give us information as early as November, and they often have not set dates for the coming summer at that time.
Summer Program:
This is a program that runs for a few hours a day. For example, a drama class that runs from 10 a.m. - noon, three mornings a week, is a summer program.
Full Day:
The camp/program meets for a period of time comparable to school hours.
Half-Day:
The camp/program meets only mornings or only afternoons, or offers a half-day as an option.
Extended Day:
The camp/program offers early morning drop-off or late afternoon pick-ups, generally for the convenience of working parents.
General Camp Activities:
These camps offer a variety of activities generally associated with summer camp such as arts & crafts, sports, swimming, and nature studies.
Specialty:
This column is used to identify camps/programs that involve children in one particular activity for the majority of the time the children attend.

ACA: Accredited by the American Camping Association
MSDE: Monitored by the MD State Department of Education
